Finding talent in NYC...

It is amazing how much of a connected thriving community of entreprenuers and service providers are located right here in our own backyard! Also, some food for thought, Mark Davis posted an interesting quick note about the top 5 places to find great talent in New York. See what he has to say here.

What do you think? Are these valid resources for finding quality talent in the NYC or do they leave much to be desired? Feel free to post your comments.

Hi, I read about this in Crains and it seems interesting to me, I have a business plan ready and I'm currently looking for funding. I have two quesitons for you, what's the protocol for event attendence? From what I see on the website it seems like the competition is geared toward businesses that are already up and running, is this true?

Thank you for your help!

Liz:

Please click on the “Competition” tab and view the criteria under the section called “The Applicant.” All applicable information in terms of what the business plan competition seeks is found there. Thanks.

Here's what I had to say in response Mark Davis' post:

If you are looking for top technical talent, I have not found Craigslist to be such a great resource. You will tend to get a flood of responses of questionable quality. The best software engineers I've hired in the last 2 years have come through Joel On Software's job board. (http://jobs.joelonsoftware.com)

I am not in any way affiliated with Joel On Software.
